The international internship was conducted from January to May 2026 at Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with École de l’Air et de l’Espace, France. The project focused on integrating artificial intelligence into autonomous aerial surveillance, including UAV simulation in Webots, YOLOv8-based object detection, autonomous decision-making, and SHAP-based explainability. My name is Ayoub and I joined the DTETI for my Master’s thesis project. Coming all the way from
Belgium to a country where I didn’t speak the local language was a huge step for me, especially
since I am naturally quite a shy and quiet person.
However, any shyness I had disappeared the moment I arrived. My supervisor, Rizky Azkario

My Exchange Experience at UGM

Hello, my name is Romain. I am an engineering student at IMT Atlantique, France, and I had the opportunity to take part in an academic exchange at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) during the first semester of my second year of Master’s degree.

During my exchange, I attended several courses in Data Science and IT Security. These courses allowed me to strengthen knowledge I had previously acquired, while also developing new skills and perspectives in these fields.
