As an assistant professor at Universitas Gadjah Mada, I was in search of an alternative platform to replace Ambari, now defunct, which is used for managing our big data server in University. During my exploration, I discovered Ilum, a big data platform that turned out to be a perfect fit for my research needs, particularly in processing mobility data from a National Mobile Operator (NMO).
What makes Ilum especially intriguing is its foundation on Kubernetes, which significantly simplifies deployment and management. This aspect alone ensures scalability and efficiency, essential for handling large-scale datasets.
