Power Electronics Research Group (PERG)
A research group in power electronic field. This group generally consists of lecturers and students with power electricity concern, but the other concerns such as IT, control, electronics, and telecommunication are able to join in this research group.
System of Instrumentation, Control, Automation, and Robotics (SICAR)
A research group that implements fundamental knowledge of instrumentation and control to make an useful control system. This research group is open for the experts on Electronics and Signal System and also Power System and Information Engineering. This research activity that is done consists of Battery Managment System (BMS), instrumentation system, and navigation/control system UAV works.
Digital Native and Literacy
A research group that is inisiated by some lecturer groups in Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering UGM. This research group is established because of the fast information technology development that changes social structure of society nowadays. Prepare the critical and digital-known generation is the key so they are not easy to get involved in radicalism, intolerance and the dissappearance of diversity sense of this nation by utilizes the technology improvement. Besides, capable of improving efficient, innovation, work productivity and also good skill in decision making of information and able to affect the world.
SeedChi (Software Engineering-Technology Enhanced Education-Computer Human Interaction
A research group that becomes the place for research in Software Engineering, Technology Enhanced Education, and Computer Human Interaction fields. This research group facilitates lecturers and students of Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral Program that do the research of those fields and does not rule out the possibility to work with other research groups.
Intelligent Transportation System Research Group
Intelligent Transportation System Research Group focus on research about electronic, computer, communication system and information technology implementation in relevant aspects with human activity. Such as, transportation, museum, monitoring system, etc. In the context of smartcity, this research group can take the role in every factors such as, smart mobility, smart people, smart living, smart government, smart environment, and smart economy.
As the result, the smart living research group has the research of smart home. Then smart mobility reasearch group has the research of smart transportation. The smart environment research group has started the researches to monitor energy usage and air quality.
Intelligent System Research Group
A research group focus on theory and application from logic, study, behave and perceive smartly. The applications in this research group are generally based on decision-support system, soft computing, image and signal processing, pattern recognition, and data mining. The vision of this group is to create smart system in various fields, like electrical engineering, electronics, computer system, biomedic, business, and natural language processing.
Smart System and Communication Technology (SSCT)
A research group which is a development form from Smart System research group that was held a few years ago in Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering Faculty of Engineering UGM. The integration between Communication Technology knowledge into Smart System research group is an unavoidable thing because of the future communication technology plays a crucial role in actualizing the smart system itself.
The vission of Smart System and Communication Technology reasearch group is becoming the leader and innovation source in developing and researching information and communication technology to support technological independence in building smart city in Indonesia and able to compete on international level. While the mission of this research group is to produce research and publication, knowledge spreader, and ICT-based application system development for society.
Digital System Research Group
Digital System Research Group is a research group under Department of Electrical Engineering and Informartion Technology Faculty of Engineering UGM. The main focus of research in this group are:
1. The algorithm implementation on PC, embedded system from FPGA
2. Processor architecture design and ASIP
3. Development of signal processing algorithm
4. Research orientation that supports integration of smart city infrastructure
High Voltage and High Current Engineering (HVHCE)
Power Electric System field has an important branch of knowledge that is “High Voltage and High Current Engineering”. This branch of knowledge is related with the usage of high voltage isolation system, isolation coordination, the protection towards lightning and contact surge, isolation material development and its work test, high voltage system on medical equipments, etc. In the future, the related field with high-power microwave and accelator machine and medical equipments are being concerned too.
Power System Research Group
Power System Research Group is built to accomodate the communication and interaction between lecturers that have interest in power electric field. The scope of this research starts from planning and power electric system aspects, integration of renewable energy into power electric system, policy study, and regulation about the supply of electric energy and energy management.
